APC crisis in Katsina State: Radda’s Security Chiefs Face Police Questioning in Abuja

The APC crisis in Katsina State has deepened after Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s Aide-de-Camp and Chief Security Officer were invited to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The two security officers reportedly arrived at the police headquarters on 20 August 2026. They were then questioned as political tensions within the All Progressives Congress continued to rise.

Police authorities have not publicly stated why the officers were invited. As a result, details surrounding the questioning remain unclear.

Sources told PRNigeria that the development is linked to growing tensions between political groups within the APC in Katsina State.

One camp supports Governor Radda. The other is associated with Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political Matters.

The rivalry has added pressure to the political structure of the ruling party in the state.

According to sources, complaints from influential political interests may have triggered the police action. However, the claims have not been independently confirmed.

Some sources also linked the development to a directive from Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu.

The police, however, have not publicly confirmed that the Inspector-General ordered the questioning.

The APC crisis in Katsina State comes amid wider political manoeuvring within the ruling party. Therefore, the invitation of the governor’s senior security aides is likely to attract further political attention.
