Miss Nengi Enenimiete, 16, was discovered dead and concealed in a hotel closet on Twon Brass Island in the Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to information obtained by Nigerian Tribune, the hotel management on Monday discovered the corpse, which had begun to emit a horrible smell.

Sources claim that following inspection, the deceased’s corpse showed no evidence of physical harm, mutilation, or strangling.

However, indigenous people from the Twon Brass neighborhood are calling for an autopsy and the arrest of the unidentified male guest who brought the dead woman to the hotel and killed her.

It was learned that on Saturday, the deceased’s acquaintance introduced her to the unnamed male guest. He supposedly stayed at the hotel and checked out on his own on Sunday.

According to a source from the Twon Brass neighborhood, “the manager checked the room when he came. He observed that it was a mess and requested that the cleaner clean it up for another visitor. The cleaner did, but they also observed a little amount of water dribbling from another area of the space.

“As they were inspecting the space, they noticed a bad odor and began looking for its cause. Later, they found the deceased’s motionless body in the wardrobe.

The dead is apparently a native of the state’s Nembe/Brass local government region, and the girl who was thought to be the link between her and the unnamed male guest has reportedly been arrested.

According to the Bayelsa Police Command’s spokesman, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, “on November 21, 2022, the manager of a hotel in Twon Brass reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Brass, that he perceived an offensive odor from one of the hotel rooms, and upon a search, he discovered a lifeless female corpse hidden inside a wardrobe.

Nengi Enenimiete, age 16, was later identified as the dead. The search for the suspects who stayed in the hotel room the night of the event is still ongoing. The body was removed and taken to the mortuary for an autopsy. The inquiry is still being conducted.
