Success James, 35, was given a 21-year prison term for enticing four underage females to engage in prostitution in Agbor, Delta State.
Awka, Anambra State’s Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Chief Magistrate Court found her guilty and handed her a sentence.
The accused was apprehended in December of last year after Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, stopped four girls engaged in prostitution in Onitsha who were between the ages of 13 and 15.
The girls admitted that a particular Madam Success had enticed them into prostitution by promising them a job in a restaurant in Agbor where they would be selling drinks in a beer parlor. However, when the girls arrived in Agbor, they learned that the work they had been brought for was prostitution.
During a raid on a brothel that the prisoner owned and ran, the victims were saved.
