Police officers in Jos, Plateau State, have detained Mrs. Nneamaka Nwachuku for reportedly torturing her 11-year-old maid to death. She works as a microbiologist at one of the state’s research facilities.
According to reports, Margaret Joshua, a victim who was born in Kebbi State, fled from community instability before being taken to Jos to work at the Nwachukwu family’s home by some fictitious aid.
Despite the victim being raised by her family, the suspect, a mother of two, failed to enroll the girl in school and instead took part in the girl’s daily grooming.
The girl was recently made to sit in a bucket of hot water during a be@ting, which burned her buttocks, and on Monday, November 14, she passed away in the hospital.
The suspect admitted to beating the victim and stated the girl had been masturbating and she was punishing the victim to get her to stop.
