If elected governor of Sokoto State, Saidu Umar, a candidate for the PDP, has pledged to fund initiatives aimed at empowering young people.
The largest ward in the state, Waziri B, is where he visited on Sunday and disclosed this.
Umar traveled to the area to attend a book launch sponsored by the Waziri B Youth Solidarity for Ubandoma/Sagir Door 2 Door Campaign.
According to the statement, Umar told the populace that, if granted the mandate, Sokoto State would build on the accomplishments of the current administration.
He reaffirmed that, if elected, his administration would make sure that women and young people were supported in various aspects of life.
“Youth and women will be involved in party politics and governance. The empowerment projects and skill-building programs that will be launched throughout the state would benefit women and young people, according to Umar.
In terms of education, Umar promised that his administration would build on the successes achieved by the Aminu Waziri Tambuwal administration.
In order to meet the demands and needs of upcoming generations, he pledged to increase investment in the industry.
He asserted that the obstacles could be overcome since his united campaign with Hon. Sagir Bafarawa will advance Sokoto.
Party leader Hon Abdullahi Maigwandu and Commissioner for Local Government Affairs both made separate speeches in which they pledged that the region will provide the PDP a sizable portion of the vote.
Bello Maikarfi, the PDP chairman in the Sokoto North Local Government Area, assured Umar and all of the PDP candidates running for various levels of office during his remarks that the local government will vote the party into power by a landslide in the 2023 elections.
