The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Monday arrived in Kwara State as part of efforts to assess the security situation in communities affected by recent insecurity.

Shortly after his arrival, the police chief paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, at the Government House in Ilorin.

According to reports by Premiere News, the visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force leadership to engage with state authorities and strengthen security coordination across the country.

During his visit, the Inspector-General is expected to travel to Woro and other communities recently affected by security challenges to conduct an on-the-ground assessment of the situation.

The visit will also provide an opportunity for the police leadership to interact with residents and reassure them of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to safeguarding lives and property.

Security agencies have continued to intensify operations in parts of the state following reports of attacks and rising concerns among local communities.

The police leadership has reiterated that protecting citizens and restoring confidence in affected areas remain top priorities.
