The Nkporo Police Divisional Headquarters in the Ohafia Area Command was attacked by persons believed to be hoodlums on Sunday, according to the Abia State Police Command, which confirmed the incident on Friday.
In a statement, the command’s spokesman, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said that the thugs managed to escape with an AK-47 rifle equipped with 30 rounds of ammo, two riot gunners, and an unknown amount of ammunition.
According to Ogbonna, criminals in three Toyota Sienna buses fired randomly, dislodged the on-duty police officers, broke into the station’s armory, and seized the equipment.
According to the military spokeswoman, the attackers also injured three police constables while stealing sets of uniforms from the armory and offices.
