The Nigeria Railway Corporation, or NRC, has refuted the rumor that the rail service between Abuja and Kaduna will restart on November 24 that appeared in several media outlets and on social media.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was informed by the managing director of NRC, Fidet Okhiria, that the news is untrue and should be ignored.

Although the Managing Director stated that the train service between Abuja and Kaduna would begin in November, no specific date has been made public.

He claims that although there isn’t a set time for the restart, the federal government is doing everything possible to make sure it happens by the end of November.

“I want to let everyone know that the rumor is incorrect because a set date has not yet been established.

“It is correct that the Minister stated that we will restart services on that route in November, and every effort is being made to guarantee that we do so before the end of the month.

Mr. Okhiria stated, “I desire to reiterate the Federal Government’s and the corporation’s commitment to securing the lives and property of our highly esteemed passengers and Nigerians.
