Restructuring has been cited by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, as the solution to Nigeria’s political and socioeconomic problems.
At a town hall gathering in the United States of America (USA), he made the statement.
According to Iwuanyanwu, the federal government’s consideration of reforming the nation will lower the system’s escalating political turbulence and stabilize it.
He claims that restructuring will give all ethnic groups the chance to concentrate on their wants and requirements and use their resources to carry out important initiatives in various federating units.
The Ohanaeze leader remembered that the Aburi Accord and the political conferences held prior to Nigeria’s independence both stressed the importance of restructuring as a solution to the country’s political problems.
Iwuanyanwu pledged to utilize his status as the head of the largest Igbo group as a springboard to launch a significant economic revolution in Igboland by utilizing the region’s natural and human resources.
In his own words, “I have established committees and study groups to develop a strategy on how to realize the tremendous agricultural potentials in the Southeast zone.
To make the zone an investment destination for Nigeria and beyond, he added, “sufficient attention will now be directed to education, mining, transportation, industries, and infrastructural development.
