Najatu Mohammed, a Commissioner in the Police Service Commission (PSC), has demanded that Aisha Buhari, the first lady of Nigeria, be prosecuted for assaulting and ordering the detention of Aminu Mohammed, a final-year student at the Federal University of Dutse, and Zainab Kazeem, her former social media assistant.

police officers operating under the direction of Mrs. Aisha Buhari’s assistant in charge, Usman Shugaba, detained the 23-year-old student for tweeting that the president’s wife was living fat off the money of the poor.

Posted in Hausa, the tweet reads, “Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi.”
The caption of the tweet, which included a picture of Mrs. Buhari, roughly translates as “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full.”
On November 8, however, security personnel picked up Muhammed, who was then reportedly beaten up after being taken into custody on campus. For her part, Mrs. Kazeem was detained and tortured into a coma over an alleged secret leak.

In response, Mrs. Mohammed criticized the president’s wife for taking matters into her own hands and urged security personnel to detain and charge her in an interview with Daily Nigerian.

She said that all Nigerians must oppose Mrs. Buhari’s move and that she had usurped legal authority.

“She has no right to act in that manner. She ought to face legal action for doing just that. She has seized control of the law. She has assumed the position and duties of the commander in chief.

“In my opinion, Nigerians ought to speak out against this. This tyranny will no longer be tolerated.

“As a public figure, you should expect criticism. If you can’t take the heat then leave the kitchen. In fact you are not even a leader Aisha Buhari in any sense of the word. You are so petty for condescending this low. “And it’s such a shame that you are allowed to do it by your husband who has failed to take up his responsibility. Well, we as Nigerians are saying no to this tyranny. Enough is enough. Aminu must be set free. You had him abducted all the way from Jigawa, flown to Abuja on taxpayers’ money, and you had the nerve to even beat him, yourself! No wonder you sprained your leg,” Mrs Mohammed added.

“I want to question our security personnel why they haven’t been successful in finding bandits and murderers all around the nation. Nigeria has evolved into a murderous machine. Every day, women are being raped, and their husbands are being murdered.

“Millions of people have become orphans. I don’t recall Mrs. Buhari ever showing even the most sympathy for these individuals, much less making efforts to find the criminals, imprison them, or even bring legal action against them. That has never been said before.

She has grown to be so selfish that she is now the law. because Nigerians who have permitted this to happen have acted irresponsibly.

This is our nation. Our authority over our leaders is unwavering. We didn’t support Aisha Buhari or any of the other Buhari hangers-on. The same farmers, craftsmen, students, and citizens of our nation who voted for Buhari are now receiving the exact opposite of what they had hoped for.

“Aisha Buhari needs to be put to order; this will not do. We must all take a stand against this tyranny, including civil rights organizations and well-intentioned Nigerians.

“Buhari left a leadership void, which is why all kinds of people seized it. The same woman who claimed Mamman Daura had seized control of her husband’s administration has since turned into a despot. It is clear that she didn’t say it out of concern for God or the nation, but rather for herself, she claimed.
The right activist also recounted how Mrs. Buhari allegedly defrauded people in 2018 and then ordered the detention and torture of her former aide-de-camp.

The PSC commissioner questioned why the security agencies and the first lady had not been able to contain the nation’s growing insecurity with the same energy that they had used to contain perceived critics.
