Adams Oshiomhole Claims Akpabio Sees Him as the Devil during podcast interview

|By Adejumo Adekunle – Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio views him as “the devil,” as tensions between the two lawmakers continue to grow.

Speaking on Mic On Podcast, Oshiomhole alleged that Akpabio has become overly suspicious of him. He argued that the Senate President believes he is behind efforts to challenge his leadership within the upper chamber.

“Everybody in the Senate knows that if Akpabio had his way, he would lock me out of the Senate because he thinks I am the devil he knows,” Oshiomhole said.

However, the former Edo State governor warned that there are other forces at work in the Senate. He also suggested that many lawmakers privately complain about Akpabio’s leadership style.

Oshiomhole further declared that the 11th Senate would not operate like the current one. According to him, senators are increasingly unhappy with the way the chamber is being managed.

The dispute between the two former governors intensified after the Senate amended its standing rules ahead of the 2027 political cycle.

Subsequently, disagreements over changes to Orders 4 and 5 triggered a heated confrontation on the Senate floor. The clash exposed growing divisions within the National Assembly and raised fresh questions about unity among lawmakers.

Although Akpabio has not publicly responded to the latest remarks, Oshiomhole’s comments are likely to fuel further debate over leadership and internal democracy in the Senate.

As political activities ahead of 2027 gather momentum, the relationship between the two senior lawmakers will remain under close scrutiny.
