The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly dismissed reports alleging that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned from his position, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by the National Chairman’s Media Office, the party condemned the reports as “an insidious fabrication,” blaming what it called “puerile, weak and inconsiderate propagandists” for attempting to mislead the public.
The statement stressed that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman of the party, adding that there has been no discussion or plan regarding his resignation.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement read.
The ADC further maintained that its leadership remains united and focused on strengthening democratic values while providing credible political direction for Nigerians.
It also warned against attempts to destabilise the party, attributing such moves to growing concerns over the ADC’s rising influence and the shifting political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are resolute in resisting any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the stability of its leadership.
