Fresh developments have emerged after the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the Peace and Forest Initiative Peace Commission (PFIPC), over claims that the organisation operated as a fake Federal Government agency. Security operatives reportedly flew Adeyemi to Abuja aboard a private jet, where investigators have continued to question him as part of an ongoing fake Federal Government agency investigation.
Sources familiar with the case said the transfer formed part of a coordinated security operation designed to move him quickly to the Federal Capital Territory, where the inquiry is taking place. Investigators are examining allegations that the commission presented itself to the public as a legitimate Federal Government agency without lawful authority. The fake Federal Government agency case remains a key focus of the investigation.
Authorities are also reviewing the commission’s structure, daily operations and the circumstances surrounding its creation. In addition, security agencies are assessing its funding sources, affiliations and operational activities. They are also working to identify individuals who may have represented or worked with the organisation in different roles.
The investigation aims to establish the full extent of the commission’s activities and determine whether any people or organisations cooperated with it because they believed it was an authentic government institution. Officials have not yet revealed the complete scope of the inquiry. However, the continuing fake Federal Government agency investigation is expected to provide more information about how the commission operated and whether others played a role in its activities.
As investigators continue their work, more findings may emerge to clarify the commission’s operations and the outcome of the ongoing probe.
