INEC 2027 Election Guidelines Win Court of Appeal Backing, Overturn High Court Ruling

Femi Gbajabiamila sues Adeniyi Adeyemi over alleged defamation in a case filed before a Federal Capital Territory High Court. The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu accused Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Promotion Council, of making defamatory statements against him.

According to the court filing, Femi Gbajabiamila sues Adeniyi Adeyemi and is demanding N10 billion in general damages, N5 billion in aggravated damages, and N200 million to cover legal costs. He also asked the court to order Adeyemi to publish a full retraction and apology in five national newspapers.

However, the court is yet to determine the merits of the claims. Femi Gbajabiamila sues Adeniyi Adeyemi as the legal battle now heads to court.
