The Chairman of Efon Alaaye Local Government, Ekiti State, Engr. Olabode Adetunji on Wednesday, 15th January 2020 laid a wreath at the unknown soldier square, Owode, Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State to celebrate the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The chairman who led Government officials, traditional rulers, party leaders, elders, women and youths to the Armed forces Remembrance Day celebration spoke about significance the day.
In his speech, Engr Adetunji reminded about the importance of the celebration as an occasion of recognizing the fallen heroes, celebrating the living legions and concealing the wounds of the past.
The Chairman, after he inspected the guard of honour reiterated his commitment in executing a united and non-sentimental administration. He mentioned his readiness to improve the community’s social infrastructures in his official capacity and capability in collaboration with the state government led by Gov. Kayode Fayemi.
Earlier in the week, the legions thanksgiving service was held at Anglican Church Idagba Efon Alaaye on Sunday. The Chairman who was christened in the Orthodox Church revealed how he was a drummer and a member of the choir in the church.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Aderemi Oluwatayo, the Local Government Secretary, George Idowu, The Alaaye of Efon, high chiefs, spiritual Fathers, council executives, the APC LGA Executives and the citizens.
