EGYPT IN EMERGENCY DRAMA

When this reporter raised the palpable fears of an air of insecurity as the 2019 African Nations Cup began in Cairo,Egypt ,the handlers of The Nigerian Soccer team ,The Super Eagles through its Media officer ,Mr Femi Ibitoye debunked it in very strong terms.

However it was a general fact known to the crème de la crème of the global press that Egypt Sinai Province or governorate was a haven of several Islamist groups who were battling government forces to a standstill on a daily basis .

Infact so rampant was there strikes in recent years that the government of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi  had to place the nation on a red alert .

The latest is a state of emergency which has being placed by the Egyptian leadership on the land of the Pharaohs shortly after the completion of the African Nations Cup for yet another three months.

Frontline airlines like the British Airways and Lufthansa have already suspended their respective flights for at least a week as part of efforts to seek caution.
