A woman named Sadiya passed only a few days after being freed from captivity in her husband’s home.
According to reports, the mother-of-four was recently rescued after being held captive by her husband for a year in his home in Nguru, Yobe State, with scant food.
According to numerous sources, Sadiya’s husband, Ibrahim Yunusa Bature, only provided her with Kunu, a native beverage, to survive. Hadiza, the victim’s mother, stated to newsmen that she had traveled to see her daughter after feeling uneasy with the tone of her voice on the phone, but that she had found her in a near-death scenario because she was so weak from starvation and other maladies that she couldn’t even walk.
A few days after being treated at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital by her, she passed away. Hadiza urged the appropriate authorities to see that justice was done in the situation.
