The agent of Ghanaian football player Christian Atsu has refuted media accounts that claimed Atsu had been rescued from the ruins of an earthquake that had hit Turkey and Syria.
According to reports, the 31-year-old former footballer for Newcastle and Chelsea was found safe after his voice was recognized on February 7th while hiding under the debris of his home in Turkey.
Recall that a Hayatspor spokesman announced on Tuesday that the winger had been taken to the hospital with unknown injuries following a miraculous rescue.
However, according to a statement issued by his representative on Wednesday, February 8, Nana Sechere, they are unable to establish his whereabouts.
“We have not confirmed Christian’s location despite the club’s announcement from yesterday that he had been hauled out alive.
As you can guess, his family is still going through a terrible time, and we are doing everything we can to find Christian, he stated in the message that was shared on Twitter.
