The administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel has worked with the federal government and pertinent civil society organizations (CSOs) to combat the problem of child labor and trafficking in Akwa Ibom State.
In addition, the administration claimed that it is aiming to eradicate open defecation in the state by making significant investments in WASH reforms.
This was said by the commissioner for communication and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, during a Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment advocacy tour to the state with the African Centre for Human Development (AHDC), a community and socks development CSO.
The commissioner welcomed the delegation led by the state controller, Mrs. Sunshine Udeme, and explained that information management and dissemination are crucial in crucial campaigns, such as the delicate ones involving child labor and other vices, assuring that the state government is ready to effectively address the issues.
Comrade Ini Ememobong stressed that “for harmonious working relationships between the federal and state government, the Ministry of Information and Strategy must be positioned as the melting pot for shared ideas, views, and opinions that are critical to the overall development of the people and growth of the state.” He was represented by the permanent secretary, Akparawa James Edet.
