Carlos Alcaraz defeated Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 to win the Vienna Open on Sunday, securing his fourth title of the season and the 28th of his career.

The 23-year-old Spaniard also extended his winning run at ATP 500 events to 26 matches with another impressive performance.

Alcaraz arrived in Vienna after winning titles in Doha and Tokyo. He maintained his perfect record at ATP 500 tournaments in 2026, taking his tally to 16 wins without a defeat. He also completed the Vienna Open campaign without dropping a set in five matches.

The world number two made a strong start, breaking De Minaur’s serve in the opening game. He quickly built a double-break lead as the Australian struggled to match his intensity.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion dominated the first set, winning it 6-1. He repeatedly attacked short balls and forced errors from his opponent.

De Minaur, 27, showed greater resistance in the second set and stayed close for much of the contest. However, Alcaraz produced another strong all-round display to seal the victory in 97 minutes.

The win also marked Alcaraz’s seventh consecutive victory over the Australian.

Alcaraz will now turn his attention to next week’s Paris Masters, carrying strong momentum into the European indoor season. He has also secured qualification for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin.

De Minaur will also head to Paris as he continues his bid to qualify for the ATP Finals for the third year in a row.
