Miss Nkechiyere Umeh, a student at Deeper Life High School (DLHS), has been recognized by ANCHOR University, Ayobo, Lagos (AUL), as the top applicant in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a score of 360.
The university stated that Umeh is the legitimate winner of the top score result, therefore there is no dispute regarding who the best applicant is in the UTME for 2022/2023.
At a press conference yesterday to mark the start of the university’s 2023/2024 admissions process, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, the vice-chancellor (VC) of the institution, made the compliment.
The VC advised Nigerians to take their time supporting suspected wrongdoers against recognized national organizations that are charged with certain duties.
He advised against using such issues as a platform for political mudslinging and legal experimentation.
Bandele handed tuition-free awards to the top 20 students in the UTME from Deeper Life High Schools across the country and announced that Umeh had been chosen as Anchor University’s Young Ambassador for the 2022–2023 academic session with a full scholarship award to study any degree of her choosing at the school.
According to him, the institution will likewise offer the first 50 students of the school with 250 and above marks in the UTME, who will be admitted into the university for the 2023/2024 academic session, large percentage tuition rebates.
