The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday announced the defection of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that further reshapes the political landscape of the North Central region.

APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed the development during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

Yilwatda, who also hails from Plateau State, said Governor Mutfwang’s defection places all North Central states firmly under APC control, marking a major consolidation of the ruling party’s influence in the region.

The caucus meeting, which is still ongoing, has in attendance President Bola Tinubu and six governors who recently dumped the PDP for the APC, underscoring the wave of high-profile defections strengthening the ruling party ahead of future political contests.
