The PDP claimed that Effah-Attoe’s passing had left a significant void in the party and that she had positively impacted many lives and played a critical role in the expansion and advancement of our country.
Part of the statement said, “Prof. Effah-Attoe lived an extraordinarily modest, pleasant, sociable, gracious, compassionate, and loving life, despite being extremely brilliant, towering, and magnificent in all spheres.” She had a profoundly good impact on many people’s lives and made significant contributions to the expansion and advancement of our country.
She was a committed educator, activist, writer, and brave organizer who consistently upheld the truth, battled for justice, equity, and fairness, and devoted her time, energy, and resources to the cause of women’s rights in Nigeria.
“Over the years, she distinguished herself as an Amazon with extraordinary intellectual capacity for leadership and national service, serving as the Commissioner for Education and later the Commissioner for Information and Culture in Cross River State, a member of the Assembly of Cross River State, a member of the Governing Board of several Cross River State and Federal Government Agencies and Programs, a university professor, and one of the most decorated scholars in Nigeria.”
The PDP declared that in the run-up to the general elections in 2023, it will never forget the unceasing efforts made by the departed and other leaders to the party’s rebranding and strengthening.
“She brought an uncommon intellectual aptitude to Party administration, especially in mobilizing women for greater participation in politics and governance,” the statement continued, highlighting the National Woman Leader of our great Party.
“Her unwavering contributions, along with those of other PDP leaders, will always be remembered by the PDP as we work to reposition and fortify our great Party ahead of the general elections in 2023, all in support of our mission to rescue, reconstruct, and reroute our country from misrule.”
