In all, 1557 Corps Members from the 2021 Batch C Stream 1 service year, including 629 men and 928 women, disengaged from national service on Thursday in Anambra State.
Nine Corps members will face disciplinary proceedings ranging from Extension of duty to outright repeat of the service year for offenses like absconding and truancy. Seven Corps members who distinguished themselves during their service year have been shortlisted for the State Honors award.
Certificates of National Service (CNS) were presented to the meritorious Corps members during a low-key event that took place concurrently in all 21 local government districts of the State, according to information obtained by THE PREMIER NEWS.
In her goodbye speech, State Coordinator Mrs. Blessing Iruma, who oversaw the exercise, urged the Corps members to uphold the NYSC’s ideals in all future endeavors.
“As worthy ambassadors of the Scheme, it is incumbent upon you to maintain the spirit of patriotism, grit, perseverance, and devotion that was instilled in you during the service year,” she stated.
The State Coordinator advised the departing Corps Members to keep putting their newly gained talents into practice during their Service year. This instruction came from the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program.
Throughout the occasion, the Coordinator personally distributed the CNS to Corps members.
