-Spain international set for medical in Istanbul
-Sweden striker snubs Sporting Lisbon to join Premier League side

Spain international Marco Asensio is close to completing a sensational move from Paris Saint-Germain to Fenerbahçe, where he will reunite with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

According to trusted transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahçe has reached an agreement with Asensio and is finalising a deal with PSG. The winger has been invited to Istanbul for a medical examination and is expected to sign officially with the Turkish giants in the coming days.

Asensio’s potential move would mark a significant addition to Mourinho’s squad as the Portuguese tactician looks to bring his winning mentality to the Istanbul-based club. The 28-year-old playmaker has struggled for consistent game time in Paris and now appears poised for a fresh challenge in the Turkish Super Lig.

Meanwhile, in a parallel development, Sweden striker Viktor Gyökeres has decided to part ways with Sporting Lisbon and push for a summer transfer to Arsenal.

Reports indicate Gyökeres will not return to pre-season training with the Portuguese champions. He has already communicated his decision to Sporting president Frederico Varandas, signalling his determination to secure a Premier League move.

The 26-year-old forward was instrumental in Sporting’s title-winning campaign last season, finishing as one of the league’s top scorers. His potential arrival would bolster Arsenal’s attacking options as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen the squad ahead of a challenging season across all competitions.

Both deals remain in motion and are expected to dominate headlines in the coming days as the summer transfer window gathers pace.
