Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has intensified political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, announcing that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is gaining strong traction nationwide.
Atiku, who officially registered as a member of the ADC on Thursday in Yola, Adamawa State, revealed the development in a post on X on Friday. He also shared photographs of himself receiving his membership card and a customised “Waziri 01” jersey during a brief but symbolic ceremony that pulled a large crowd of supporters, party officials and community leaders.
Reinforcing the party’s growing momentum, Atiku said the ADC’s mobilisation drive was expanding across states.
“Yesterday, the ADC train made a stopover in Jalingo for the unveiling of the Taraba State secretariat of the Coalition Party. There’s no stopping the ADC; it is heading your way,” he wrote.
Atiku’s defection and public endorsement are expected to inject fresh energy into the party as political alignments deepen ahead of 2027.
