Paul Ibe, media adviser to former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has cautioned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike against limiting the potential of Abuja’s youth by steering them toward taxi driving. Responding to Wike’s recent car donation to young people for commercial driving, Ibe argued that many youths are forced into taxi work by challenging economic conditions beyond their control.
Wike encouraged recipients to embrace taxi work without shame, noting many Nigerians abroad take similar jobs. Ibe countered, posting on X, that Nigerian youths are “better than that” and deserve opportunities, blaming “megalomaniac” policies for restricting their potential.
