Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, has donated N20 million to the state leadership of the Nigerian Legion.

The governor also promised to continue improving the lives of widows of fallen heroes through the chapter.

Bagudu made the donation and pledge at this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem annual appeal funds held at Birnin Kebbi’s Haliru Abdu Stadium.

He praised the sacrifice of the troops still alive, particularly in the fight against insurgency, banditry, and other criminal activities in the state and country.

The governor, who attended the parade, also laid a wreath in memory of the fallen soldiers, saying that Kebbi State and Nigeria would never forget their sacrifice.

Garba Hassan Suru, the new chairman of the state chapter of Legion, commended the governor for the gesture and stated that according to available records, the chapter has received similar amounts from the governor since the beginning of his administration.
