Barcelona have completed the signing of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, with the German winger agreeing a contract that will keep him at the La Liga champions until 2031.

Neither club revealed the financial details of the transfer. However, reports indicate that the Karim Adeyemi deal is worth €22 million ($25.1 million), with additional performance-related payments and a sell-on clause included in the agreement.

Confirming the move, Barcelona said in a statement: “FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Karim Adeyemi, who has signed a contract with the Catalans until 2031.”

Karim Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and went on to make 146 appearances, scoring 36 goals in all competitions. The 24-year-old now reunites with Hansi Flick, who gave him his senior international debut for Germany during his time as national team manager.

Renowned for his exceptional speed, Karim Adeyemi once set a Bundesliga speed record after reaching 36.65 km/h during Borussia Dortmund’s 5-1 victory over Freiburg in the 2022–23 season.

The winger becomes Barcelona’s second attacking addition of the current transfer window after the arrival of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. His signing comes as the Spanish champions reshape their attacking options following Robert Lewandowski’s move to Chicago Fire and Marcus Rashford’s return to Manchester United after completing his loan spell at the Catalan club.

With Karim Adeyemi adding pace, versatility and experience to the squad, Barcelona will hope the Germany international strengthens their attack as they prepare for another challenging domestic and European campaign.

Do you think Karim Adeyemi has what it takes to become a key player for Barcelona?
