Head coach of Bayelsa Queens, Whyte Ogbonda, has expressed strong confidence in his team’s depth, insisting the club remains formidable despite losing key players to national assignments.
The “Prosperity Angels” are currently without five players who are representing Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 levels. However, Ogbonda dismissed concerns, declaring that his squad possesses the quality and resilience to sustain their winning momentum.
“We will make the best use of the players available,” Ogbonda said. “We want those on national duty to stay focused and deliver for the country, while we take care of business here.”
The coach emphasized that the remaining squad members are capable of executing the team’s fixtures effectively and securing favourable results as the season progresses.
Ogbonda also reassured fans that the absent players are expected to return ahead of the crucial Super Six playoff tournament, where the league’s top contenders will battle for supremacy.
Meanwhile, Bayelsa Queens have already stamped their authority in Group A, clinching a playoff spot alongside Rivers Angels and Edo Queens, with three matches still left in the regular season.
With confidence high and qualification secured, Bayelsa Queens are now poised to intensify their charge toward the title.
