Breaking: APM’s challenge against Tinubu’s election is rejected by the Supreme Court.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated Kashim Shettima as their vice presidential candidate in the most recent presidential election, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) filed an appeal against this nomination, which was denied by the Supreme Court.
The appeal was dismissed by a seven-member panel led by Justice John Okoro following an application to withdraw it by the appellant’s attorney, Chukwuma Majukwu Umeh.

When the appeal was brought up, panel members said it was pointless because Shettima had already been declared duly nominated by the Supreme Court in a previous case involving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) v. INEC and others.

If Umeh believed his client would gain anything from the case’s conclusion, other than adding to the court’s already excessive workload, Justice Okoro asked him directly.

After Justice Okoro insisted that the appeal had no practical significance, Umeh changed his mind about trying to set his client’s case apart from PDP v. INEC and other cases.
