The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) neutralized a top Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) commander, Bashir Dauda, along with 50 ISWAP fighters in a precise airstrike targeting key terrorist locations in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, revealed the operation on Tuesday, stating, “The NAF conducted air interdictions on October 31, focusing on ISWAP enclaves in Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe, achieving significant impact.”
Akinboyewa confirmed that, in addition to eliminating Dauda, the operation destroyed an ISWAP supply depot stocked with food essentials, including beans, millet, and rice. “This strike cuts off a critical resource line for the terrorists,” he added.
