Falomo Tolulope Peters, a thug who allegedly shot a lot of pupils at the College of Education in Ilesa, Osun State, is suspected of being responsible.
The college students were protesting on Thursday against what they perceived as the state government’s lack of earnestness about the College of Education’s transformation into a full-fledged university.
According to a student who spoke with SaharaReporters, “The Osun State government has decided to upgrade the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa to awarding institution under the clear condition of Private Public Partnerships, which is not favorable to the current students in terms of the exorbitant fees that we will be asked to pay after the completion of the whole process.”
“The fact that the bill was passed into law without a public hearing is the most frustrating thing. We thus protested outside just to witness the shooting of our colleagues.
The event was also confirmed by the school’s students’ union in a statement provided to SaharaReporters.
The union offered the state government and other security organizations 24 hours to find the hoodlum.
“It should be highlighted that there is no reversing our demands; we will keep pressing forward until the State Government sees a need to act on our behalf.
The students stopped an armed former student of our college named FALOMO TOLULOPE PETER at an early hour today because they saw that he was equipped and believed that our lives would be in danger if we allowed him to enter.
“Ifalomo Tolulolope was the former Cultural Director of our union. After graduating, he began engaging in cult activity, fraud, and illicit mining in the Ilesa region. Some police officers are aware of his violent tendencies and crazy behavior.
“GBENGA AJANGILA, ONE Mr. A.Y, and a POLICEMAN were in a Camry automobile with FALOMO TOLULOPE PETER. He entered the back of the car and pulled a revolver. FALOMO TOLULOPE PETER, a 2012–2013 PRIMARY EDUCATION STUDENT SET graduate, began firing at the students who were peacefully protesting.
It’s crucial to note that 20 of our students had injuries, and at the time this message was issued, roughly 4 of them were being treated at Wesley Teaching Hospital in Ilesa.
“The general public is requested to take notice that the state government has once again let us down. We have alerted all relevant security agencies, including the school administration.
We also have a rumor that these men had connections among the security services’ rank and file, but we are giving them the benefit of the doubt because the DPO promised that all shooters will be caught.
“Let it be known that our protest is nonviolent and that our demands are unambiguous. We therefore declare that, in keeping with our tradition, none of our pupils are armed or destructive. As a result, FALOMO TOLULOPE PETER is classified as a criminal. We give the state government and security agencies 24 hours to bring out FALOMO Tolubope Peter since he has said that NO ONE can arrest him even if he kills any students. He is wanted, so we are giving this instruction.
To divert the public’s attention from what our demands are, “We call the STATE GOVERNMENT to meet all of our FUNDAMENTAL DEMANDS.”
