At the 29th annual Nigerian Economic Summit, which was organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu gave an assurance that the period of industrial actions in the country’s academic environment would end when the administration’s Students Loans Scheme began in January of next year. In addition to speaking extensively about his administration’s plans to stabilize the economy with the help of all stakeholders, particularly the private sector, President Tinubu also mentioned the urgent need to launch a sustainable credit scheme that will support an effective anti-corruption campaign.

“The new Students Loan Programme must commence by January 2024,” he declared. We are saying no more strikes for the sake of our kids’ and students’ futures.

“A consumer credit program is required, and it must launch as soon as feasible. I would want to thank my colleagues and team for helping to develop this program. When you need to hunt for money to buy a car and there’s no mortgage to buy a house, it’s impossible to discuss anti-corruption issues, he stated.
