Due to a technological issue, President Muhammadu Buhari, who was in the state of Bauchi for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, was unable to address the enormous audience that had assembled at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Memorial stadium.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s president and presidential candidate, and the party’s national chairman stood at the stage to speak, but the sound system failed and attempts to fix it were unsuccessful.
Amb Saddique Baba Abubakar, the APC’s candidate for governor of Bauchi State, received the flag from President Muhammadu Buhari and Abdullahi Adamu after waiting for almost 10 minutes for the technical team to fix the issue.
President Muhammadu Buhari just circled the podium, clearly humiliated, and waved to the disappointed crowd that had missed his voice for the final time.
The President then drove out of the stadium to the airport while on his way to Lagos, leading other dignitaries down the platform and into the waiting automobiles.
No representative from the APC was available to comment on the sad situation at the time this story was filed, thus all attempts to obtain an official response from them failed.
