Nigerian youth have been warned not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to incite any kind of violence during the general elections in 2023 by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Beluchukwu Enwere, national president of the Youth Wing of the Association (YOWICAN), gave this counsel to the young people in Anambra on Friday.
However, the CAN Youth leader praised Most Rev. Daniel Okoh and the sultan of Sokoto for the roles they had been playing in attempting to enshrine peace in the nation, particularly as the general elections in 2023 approach.
Therefore, he urged the young people to reject any attempts to utilize them in vote buying, vote selling, or other forms of electoral violence in the general elections of 2023.

For young people to sell their votes to any politician or political party at any election, according to Enwere, is to mortgage their futures as well as the futures of their children, relatives, and future generations.
“Be a peace ambassador now; don’t wait for your leaders, your parents, or INEC to educate you. Prior to the general elections in 2023, we must begin.
He added urged young people who had yet to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) to do so immediately, attend the appointed locations, and get ready to use them to choose reliable leaders the following year.
