Chelsea have confirmed that young defender Ishe Samuels-Smith has completed a permanent move to French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg.
In a statement released on the club’s official website on Wednesday, the Blues expressed appreciation for the 18-year-old’s contributions during his brief but impactful stint at Stamford Bridge.
Samuels-Smith arrived from Everton in July 2023 and made notable appearances for Chelsea’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams. He played a key role in helping the U18s clinch the Premier League South title in May 2024 and contributed to the U21s’ qualification for the Premier League 2 play-offs in consecutive seasons.
“We thank Ishe for all his efforts during his time at Chelsea and wish him well as he takes the next step in his career with the Ligue 1 club,” the club wrote.
His move marks another significant step in the career of the promising defender as he prepares for top-flight football in France.
