Dangote Refinery has reaffirmed that its petrol gantry price remains ₦699 per litre, dismissing speculations of a further increase and assuring petroleum marketers of steady product availability.

The company made this known in a notice posted on its official X account on Thursday, stressing that premium motor spirit (PMS) is ready for immediate pickup at its gantry.

The clarification comes as pump prices of petrol eased across Abuja, with filling stations selling between ₦739 and ₦912 per litre. Last Thursday, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery slashed its gantry price by ₦129, bringing it down from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre.

The reduction triggered a ripple effect across the downstream sector, forcing private depot owners to review their prices downward to between ₦703 and ₦800 per litre.

Reacting to the development, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, urged members to patronise Dangote Refinery, describing the pricing regime as beneficial to marketers and consumers alike.

Maigandi also disclosed that IPMAN had reached an agreement with the refinery to commence direct supply of PMS to registered members, with free delivery to filling stations nationwide.

According to him, the direct supply arrangement is expected to begin in January 2026 and will further stabilise fuel distribution and pricing across the country.
