Nigeria inflation July 2026 figures are expected from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday, as Nigerians await fresh data on the cost of living.

The NBS is expected to release its Consumer Price Index (CPI) and inflation report for July. The figures will show whether inflation continued to ease after recording its first decline in June.

Nigeria’s headline inflation fell to 15.91% in June, according to the NBS. Food inflation also dropped to 17.52% during the month.

However, the latest figures come as many households continue to feel pressure from high prices.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) latest Inflation Expectation Survey offers an indication of how consumers view current prices.

The survey put the Inflation Perception Index at 40 points in July 2026. This suggests that respondents still considered the prices of goods and services to be high.

Meanwhile, several factors continue to influence inflation in Nigeria. Energy costs remain a major concern. These include petrol, cooking gas, diesel and electricity.

In addition, exchange-rate movements, interest rates and transportation costs can affect the prices businesses charge consumers.

Insecurity also continues to disrupt production and the movement of goods in some parts of the country. As a result, higher transport and distribution costs can eventually reach consumers.

The July report will therefore provide a clearer picture of whether Nigeria’s recent inflation slowdown is gaining strength or losing momentum.

For households and businesses, the figures could offer important clues about the direction of prices in the coming months.

More importantly, the report will help policymakers assess whether current economic measures are easing the pressure on consumers.

The Nigeria inflation July 2026 figures are therefore expected to attract close attention from households, businesses, investors and policymakers.
