Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has firmly debunked viral reports alleging that Fuji singer Obesere is her biological father.

The rumour, which gained traction over the weekend on social media, claimed that the actress had opened up emotionally after years of keeping the supposed relationship a secret.

However, reacting in a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, Shokoya described the claim as completely false and misleading.

“It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father?” she said.

The actress further questioned the authenticity of the claim, insisting that she clearly resembles her real father and has never made such statements.

“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said,” she added.

Shokoya also expressed concern over how quickly some social media users believed and circulated the story without verification, noting that it had led to unwarranted backlash and insults directed at her.

She urged bloggers and content creators to correct the misinformation with the same urgency with which it was initially shared.

“I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news,” she stressed.

The actress’ response highlights ongoing concerns about the spread of misinformation and unverified claims across social media platforms.
