Shehu Othman, a former commissioner in the erstwhile Benue State, has passed away.
Following a brief illness, Othman passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday at the Trust Charitos Hospital in Jabi, Abuja.

In a statement confirming his passing, the deceased’s family said that the former commissioner would be laid to rest in the National Mosque in Abuja following the Zuhur prayer.

“Inna lillahi wa ina ilaihir taki in,” the statement said.

The family of Alhaji Shehu Othman wishes to announce his passing on November 29, 2023, at the age of 91, at the Trust Charitos Hospital in Jabi, Abuja, following a brief illness. They do so with broken hearts, but in complete surrender to Allah’s will.

The National Mosque in Abuja will host the Janaza prayer at 1:30 p.m., following the Zuhur prayer.

“And shortly after, interment would take place at the Gudu Cemetery.

“May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and grant his soul rest and forgiveness, amen.”

Othman was born on June 26, 1932, and until his passing, he was known as Magajin Garin Keana.

The deceased nonagenarian was appointed to multiple Federal boards and held multiple Cabinet ministries in the now-defunct Benue-Plateau and Plateau States.
