Scores of youths in Delta State on Tuesday protested towards the arrest and detention of some youths in the State via operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Operatives of the anti-graft organisation had stormed Warri last week and reportedly arrested no fewer than 95 suspected web fraudsters.
The suspects have been reportedly nabbed at the Adesa Ughonton and Jedda axis of Warri for suspected fraudulent internet-related activities throughout a sting operation carried out with the aid of personnel of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the anti-graft organization on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
However, as early as eight o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the placard-carrying protesters had besieged Effurun roundabout in the town centre, calling for the scrapping of EFCC.

The protesters alleged that operatives of the organization had sincerely grew to become themselves into vendetta mafia.
One of the protesters who would now not desire his identify in print alleged that the EFCC operatives had been “demanding as tons as N2million each from any of the youths captured”.
“Those who can’t afford the money, his or her belongings such as vehicle will be seized,” he similarly alleged.
The protesters similarly accused EFCC of “illegally coming into Ughelli doing the same to youths since the 2nd of October, 2022 besides desirable investigation of what these youths do for a living”.
The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujeren, had closing week stated that telephones of different brands, laptops and 15 motors of different manufacturers were amongst gadgets recovered from the arrested suspects.
Uwujeren defined that the suspects remanded in EFCC custody would be charged to courtroom as soon as investigations are concluded in their respective matters.
