DINO MELAYE SPARKS CONTROVERSY ON SOCIAL MEDIA BY CALLING ATIKU THE REAL PRESIDENT (PICTURE).

On Tuesday, Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West, sparked debate on social media by calling Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria, the true president.

Posting a photo of himself with Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, eating at a restaurant, Melaye posted the image to his X platform account.

He claimed that Atiku took them to a posh restaurant.

“The real president, Atiku Abubakar, took us out to the exclusive Cipriani restaurant. Thank you, Daddy.” he wrote.

In addition, the ex-lawmaker posted a photo of them at the eatery without disclosing its address.

On social media, however, the post elicited a range of responses. While some users questioned his portrayal of the PDP candidate as president, others made fun of Atiku for supposedly leaving Nigeria to return to Dubai following his loss in the 2023 election.

Melaye, who ran for governor of Kogi State in 2023 on the PDP platform, was also made fun of for losing the race.
