|By Babatunji Wusu – Doma United chairman Suleiman Umar has urged players taking part in the Doma United screening exercise to give their best as the club prepares for the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Speaking during the Doma United screening exercise at Pantami Stadium in Gombe, Umar assured participants that selection would be based strictly on merit. He said the club would provide every talented player with a fair opportunity regardless of background.
The screening programme began on 19 June and attracted aspiring footballers hoping to secure a place in the squad.
“Any player that is good will be picked. We believe in ability, commitment and hard work,” Umar told the trialists.
Furthermore, he stressed that performance during the Doma United screening exercise would determine who earns a place in the team.
The exercise forms part of the Savannah Tigers’ preparations for their return to the NPFL after gaining promotion. Club officials are working to build a competitive squad capable of achieving its objectives in Nigeria’s top-flight league.
Meanwhile, players continue to showcase their skills as the coaching staff assess talent ahead of the new campaign.
Doma United hope the recruitment process will strengthen the team and improve their chances of making a strong impact when the season begins.
