Mavin Records boss and veteran producer Don Jazzy has revealed the personal cost of building one of Nigeria’s most powerful music empires.

Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old music mogul said while he has no regrets about his career journey, he never imagined he would still be single in his 40s.

“I never thought I’d be in my 40s and not married. Maybe that’s the one I lost along the way,” he confessed. “If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine.”

Don Jazzy, who has shaped the careers of Tiwa Savage, Rema, Ayra Starr and other Afrobeats stars, explained that his life would always revolve around music, whether or not he was running a record label.

Despite the trade-offs, the hitmaker maintained that he feels deeply fulfilled by his impact on the Nigerian and global music scene.
