Prutus Uzomah, a social critic and philosophy professor, urged Nigerians on Thursday to make sure they take advantage of the general elections in 2023 to “take back their country” from institutionalized corruption and poor leadership.

The president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), has mortgaged the country’s destiny by borrowing from Western countries, the don claimed at a press conference in Owerri, Imo State.

Uzomah urged Nigerians to make sure they elect the appropriate president, one who will consider the best ways to pay back the debt.

He claimed that Labour Party member Peter Obi possessed the skills required to restructure the nation.

The don expressed concern that the westerners, who he claimed had recolonized Africa, might undermine Obi’s aspirations.

He declared, “These are critical moments in the history of Nigeria. This time frame has grown enormous. Nigerians have spent a long time underground. Politics on a worldwide scale is to blame.

We have been colonized by the west for a very long time. Africa has now once again been colonized. Nigeria has not yet industrialized. In Nigeria, institutional slavery exists as a result of western influence. The west opposes the expansion of Africa. The more they want to improvise Africa.

“They installed the leaders they want in charge of us in Africa. They have caused a socioeconomic mess in Nigeria. Africa receives loans from the west to help it develop even further.

“Today, Peter Obi is compared to Moses. He is the Messiah, but I worry that the west may fight the Obident movement. But everything has its time. Nigeria has to be freed now. It is not about the candidates’ backgrounds in terms of race or religion, but rather their qualifications.

“Our top three candidates are. One is thought to be the Messiah. Nigerians ought to make a thoughtful decision among the three. If chosen as president, a man who has participated in improvisation will ensure that nothing functions.

We put Atiku, Tinubu, and Obi to the test, so Nigerians should choose the best candidate. Obi’s popularity demonstrates his superiority. It’s because of his abilities, not because he’s Igbo. Obi is more widely accepted. I believe that Nigerians must now overcome institutionalized corruption. Obi has the power to change Nigeria’s landscape. My concern that the west will prevent Africa from recovering from political salaries is still present.

“The Obident movement will be thwarted by the west. They might not permit it. The time has come to reject Nigeria’s political enslavement by the west because Nigeria has become a flashpoint in international politics. INEC needs to demand free and fair elections.

“The foundation of political freedom is economic strength. Nigeria has to elect a leader like Obi as its next president in order to free itself from foreign political pay. It is a great idea for Obi to transition Nigeria from consumption to production. Industrialization is a prerequisite for discussing production.

“Buhari has mortgaged Nigerians’ future. The next president must come up with a plan to repay the money we owe other countries.

“My personal candidate is Peter Obi. We have had presidents whose ideals failed to persuade us. I have the education necessary to distinguish between good and bad. Let’s drift and alter the situation. Regardless of any party, it is time to liberate Nigeria.
