Kanye West’s apparel brand, Yeezy, is in danger of being evicted from its Los Angeles headquarters after the owner of the structure said the rapper was behind on at least two months’ worth of rent.
In recently filed court filings, Yeezy of the West was charged with being in arrears on at least two months’ worth of rent totaling $63,254, according to the office building’s owner, CT Calabasas.
Calabasas CT told Ye you have 72 hours to pay the overdue rent in full or risk being evicted from the property.
The eviction notice, issued Tuesday, December 13, 2022, states: “Within three days after delivery of this notice on you, you must pay the amount of said rent in full or depart said premises and hand up possession of the same to the authorized agent for your landlord.”
“Legal action will be taken against you for possession of the premises, forfeiture of the agreement, and any monetary damages permitted by law if you don’t pay or leave.
You are further informed that the lease will be forfeited if the full amount of the rent is not paid within three (3) days as stated in this notice.
According to reports, the rap artist rents 15,000 square feet of office space from CT Calabasas, much of which is devoted to his design business.
According to reports, the area also has design rooms, a recording facility for his music, and production facilities for his Yeezy apparel line.
When his business was still known as West Brands Fashion, Kanye originally rented the location in 2015.
At the time of the lease agreement, he committed to pay $31,477.40 each month, and he made all of his lease payments on schedule before skipping this year’s November and December installments.
