In preparation for the 2023 elections, the FG has ordered that all universities in the nation be closed. All universities are to be shuttered for three weeks, according to a letter from the National Universities Commission to vice chancellors and directors of inter-university centers.

The instruction was issued in response to a request from the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, according to Chris Maiyaki, the NUC’s deputy executive secretary for administration. According to Maiyaki, all campuses around the nation will be closed from February 22 to March 14 to allow students to vote in the general election.

The 2023 General Elections have been scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, for the Presidential & National Assembly, and on Saturday, March 11, 2023, for the Gubernatorial and State Assembly, respectively. This is well known to vice chancellors of all universities and directors/chief executives of inter university centers.

In light of the aforementioned and the worries stated regarding staff and student security.
