Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-chip company, claims to have secured US government approval for its initial human testing.
The business claimed the approval was a “important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people” in a statement posted on its Twitter account on Tuesday.
Although the US Food and Drug Administration has not yet confirmed the approval, Neuralink pledged to provide additional details “soon” on how it intends to recruit trial participants.
Experts have emphasized that if Neuralink’s brain implants are to be made publicly available, they will need to undergo thorough testing to address technological and moral issues.
