The untrue rumor concerning Peter Mbah’s health that has been circulating on social media has been deemed fake and baseless by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Enugu State.

On Thursday, the PDP made this information public through a statement from Nana Ogbodo, its director of public communications and the spokesperson for the Enugu State Campaign Council.

He asserts that the notion that Mbah collapsed at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) headquarters in Abuja due to malicious allegations that his discharge certificate was faked is “the height of hallucination by a rudderless and lazy opposition that wish to come to power by subterfuge.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Enugu State released the following statement. It read, in part, “The Campaign Council of the Enugu State chapter of the PDP has scorned the report that its governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah, slumped at the headquarters National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Abuja, over the malicious claim that his NYSC discharge certificate was allegedly forged, describing it as “the height of hallucination by a rudderless and

“The Campaign Council questioned why Mbah would slouch over what appeared to be a hatchet job by a paid syndicate when the criminals should be cooling their heels and singing about what they know while being held by law authorities.

The Campaign Council further questioned Sahara Reporters’ decision to publish such a “obviously manufactured untruth” without first obtaining Dr. Mbah or the Campaign organization’s response.

“It is absurd to suggest that Dr. Peter Mbah, our candidate for governor, slouched over a hatchet work by a paid syndicate to discredit, divert attention from, and thwart our governorship project, which has been enthusiastically supported by the people of Enugu State.

For the umpteenth time, the uninterested Enugu opposition should focus on creating and presenting their manifestos to the public rather than engaging in mischief and propaganda because an allegation of forgery can never amount to forgery, let alone disqualify Dr. Peter Mbah from the governorship race, which he is clearly going to win.

In the interim, we assure our supporters that they need not be concerned since Dr. Peter Mbah is pursuing all required legal action to make sure that everyone connected to this nefarious endeavor is held accountable.

Our source continued, “The recent spurious rumors about Peter Mbah’s health and NYSC status that have been going around on social media are untrue and without merit. Peter Mbah is in good health and is still working to improve the lives of Enugu State’s residents. We caution the public to be careful of con artists that profit from spreading false information and don’t care to check the credibility of their sources.

“Let’s concentrate on the problems and endeavor to give Enugu State a better tomorrow. These rumors are an obvious attempt to damage the candidate’s reputation and his honorable campaign. Dr. Peter Mbah is committed to serve the people of Enugu State with honesty, openness, and integrity and is still in good health and strength. #TomorrowIsHere.”
